Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers have successfully flipped former Ole Miss pledge Bernard Causey after the Louisiana native revealed his commitment to LSU on Tuesday.

The Bayou Bengals fill a position of need in Causey, and after a monster push for the coveted defensive back, he's made his decision.

Causey is a Tiger.

The 6-foot, 160 pounder of out New Orleans, La. reopened his recruitment on Monday night after remaining committed to the Ole Miss Rebels since June.

Kelly and his recruiting staff made a push over the last few weeks for Causey. After losing a commitment from four-star cornerback Ondre Evans last week, LSU has made sure to do its work in order to land reinforcements.

The State of the Cornerback Room:

Flipped: Ondre Evans

Earlier in the week, Evans to Georgia became a real possibility, and after a midweek visit to Athens, it busted the door wide open for a flip, sources tell LSU Country. Now, he's officially announced his commitment to the National Champions.

Evans is the No. 1 overall player in the state of Tennessee with Kirby Smart and his staff stealing a major SEC target once again. With the Tigers in constant contact with Evans, the Tennessee native now makes a major splash on the recruiting trail.

The 6-foot, 185-pounder has been a fast-rising prospect in the 2024 class. With his body beginning to fill out, he’s seen it take his game to a new level. Evans became one of the highest risers in the recent 247Sports recruiting rankings, going from unranked nationally to No. 106.

Successfully Flipped: PJ Woodland - Mississippi State to LSU

Woodland, a Mississippi native, will play cornerback at the next level with the Tigers now adding a key player to a position of need.

After backing off of his pledge to Mississippi State earlier this month, Woodland wastes no time in revealing his commitment to the Tigers. A player who was trending towards the Ole Miss Rebels, LSU once again got him back down to campus with this program ultimately sealing the deal.

Woodland was in Baton Rouge for the Tigers’ victory over Auburn last weekend before making the trek back to Louisiana for the Week 8 contest against Army.

After a week on the market, LSU made sure to close the coveted talent and lock him in with the Tigers.

The 6-foot, 160-pounder fills a void in this LSU defense for the future with those within the program intrigued with his long-term potential. Woodland is in the midst of an impressive senior campaign with his Oak Grove program handling business.

The Commitments:

- Ju'Juan Johnson (four-star cornerback)

- Cai Bates (four-star cornerback)

- Bernard Causey (three-star cornerback)

- PJ Woodland (three-star cornerback)

- Wallace Foster (three-star cornerback)
