Brian Kelly and Co. are hosting Mississippi State wide receiver Zavion Thomas and his family for a visit to Baton Rouge on Monday, LSU Country has learned.

Thomas, the top transfer portal target for the Tigers, entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal last week with LSU becoming an immediate potential destination.

The coveted receiver/return specialist has heard from programs all over the country, but the Louisiana native is quickly trending for the Bayou Bengals with a return to his home state lingering.

Along with the Tigers, Thomas has earned scholarships from Auburn, Arkansas and Oregon, among others, over the last four days.

Thomas caught just two passes for four yards in 2022 during his freshman campaign, but fast forward to 2023 and his game took that next step.

The electrifying wideout reeled in 40 catches for 503 yards and a touchdown this season despite the Bulldogs finishing No. 13 among 14 SEC teams in passing yards per game this season (181.8).

LSU Country expects the Tigers to handle business here and wrap things up with Thomas sooner rather than later, but he remains evaluating his options. A coveted portal prospect with multiple years of eligibility, he's a hot commodity on "The Trail", but Kelly's staff is certainly turning up the heat.

The Louisiana native took over the high school scene during his final year in prep ball. Thomas finished his senior campaign at John Ehret with more than 2,000 all-purpose yards, including 1,025 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns,

Now, he's back on the market with LSU looking to seal the deal for his services.
