LSU QB Commit Colin Hurley Returns to Baton Rouge

Hurley arrived in Louisiana on Friday to help the Tigers with another big-time recruiting weekend.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy quarterback and four-star LSU commit Colin Hurley is back in Baton Rouge for a visit with Brian Kelly and the coaching staff.

Hurley made his way from Florida where he will take in the scenes this weekend before heading to the Elite 11 Finals next weekend in Los Angeles.

It marks the first of two visits Hurley will make to Baton Rouge this month. On June 23, he'll be back on campus to help the Tigers in what is looking to be their biggest recruiting weekend of the summer.

With four-star DB Cai Bates, five-star wide receiver Cam Coleman and more making their way down South, Hurley will also be back to lead the charge on the recruitment trail.

It's a busy summer for Hurley, and the chance to compete in the Elite 11 Finals next weekend is a tremendous opportunity for the future LSU quarterback.

The headliner of Brian Kelly’s 2024 recruiting class, Hurley performed in Oxford (Miss.) last month where he earned top honors during the event.

The Elite 11 is known for being the top showcase for high school signal-callers ahead of their senior campaigns. Hurley became the sixth 2024 quarterback to earn an invite along with (at the time):

Phoenix (Ariz.) Dylan Raiola

Carlsbad (Calif.) Julian Sayin

Saline (Mich.) CJ Carr

Savannah (Ga.) Luke Kromenhoek

Winter Garden (Fla.) Trever Jackson

A few numbers:

12 of the past 13 Heisman winners took part in either the Elite 11 Finals or the Elite 11 Regional event. Alumni from the Elite 11 include Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford, CJ Stroud, Trevor Lawrence, Bryce Young and more.

It’s a big offseason for Hurley. After electing to reclassify into the 2024 class, the next few months will be important from both a physical and mental standpoint. Hurley already attains the physical traits needed to be successful, but continuing to stay in the film room will be of the utmost importance. He’s shined in his decision making to this point and will only take even greater strides in the right direction heading into his final season of high school ball.

Hurley will sign with the Tigers in December where he puts pen to paper after helping lead the recruitment charge ever since he committed last fall.

A player who has been in the ear of several high-profile prospects, he’s helped shape LSU’s 2024 class over the last few months where they sit as a Top 10 class in the cycle.

Along with Hurley, the Tigers also sit with four-stars Trey’Dez Green, Maurice Williams Jr, Kolaj Cobbins, Tayvion Galloway, Zion Ferguson and more.
