Brian Kelly has his recruiting cap on and it’s all starting to come together for the LSU football program after a successful weekend on the trail.

The Tigers knocked it out of the park on Friday and the success carried into the rest of the weekend as well after keeping a handful of prospects in town for a multi-day stay in Baton Rouge.

Now, the dominoes are beginning to fall with news dropping sooner rather than later. LSU has positioned themselves for a productive next few weeks and it could start as soon as Sunday.

A few tidbits from this weekend:

Commitment Watch

LSU offensive tackle target Ory Williams revealed via Twitter that he will be announcing his college decision at 5pm on Sunday. A player who is high on the radar of offensive line coach Brad Davis, Williams is trending for the Tigers.

The fast-rising prospect made his way to Baton Rouge on Friday for Bayou Splash and the Tigers once again rolled out the red carpet.

Williams was expected to be in Gainesville to visit Florida on Saturday, but after another productive visit in Death Valley, he shut down his process.

Now, he’s ready to make a decision and all signs point towards the Tigers securing another piece to their offensive line.

Tigers Trending…

Four-star running back Caden Durham has been the talk of the town over the last few weeks. The lone running back LSU is recruiting in the 2024 cycle, it’s been full steam ahead for the Duncanville (Tex.) superstar.

Durham had originally set a commitment date for August 25, but after a four-day stay in Baton Rouge, he decided to move the decision date up.

The coveted back posted on Twitter that he will reveal a new commitment date at 3pm on Sunday. LSU Country will be on top of this upon a new date being released.

Durham arrived in Baton Rouge on Thursday and remained in town until Sunday alongside teammate, and five-star EDGE, Colin Simmons.

While in Death Valley, he decided to switch his commitment date. All signs once again point to the Tigers receiving good news on this front.

Flip Watch?

LSU offered Natchitoches Central (La.) offensive lineman Joseph Cryer on July 26 and the Tigers have been trending ever since. The Ole Miss commit received an offer from his “dream school” in LSU and immediately made his way to campus.

Cryer hit Baton Rouge for Bayou Splash while also getting over to Oxford to visit the Rebels this weekend. It was a big get for the Tigers to host the fast-rising offensive lineman as he continues being a hot commodity on the recruiting trail.

On Sunday, Cryer backed off of his pledge to Ole Miss and has reopened his recruitment process. LSU is in the drivers seat for this one.

After making his way to Baton Rouge shortly after being offered, Cryer has shared rave reviews of his time down South. Now, it's only a matter of time until he reveals his college decision.

The Simmons Saga

Colin Simmons is the No. 1 overall target for this LSU football program and its starting to heat up for the Duncanville (Tex.) product. A Top 10, five-star prospect, he’s at the top of the Big Board and LSU isn’t slowing down.

Experts in the industry see this recruiting battle coming down to LSU vs. Texas down the stretch and the Tigers are looking to continue trending for the program-changing prospect.

Simmons made his way to Baton Rouge on Friday for a visit before ultimately staying the entire weekend alongside teammate Caden Durham. It’s positive news for this program as they look to lock down the Duncanville Duo.

After a beneficial weekend, LSU feels confident, but Simmons has time to continue his process. As the weeks go on, it’ll be interesting to monitor where his head’s at before his senior campaign.
