Brian Kelly detailed the task at hand and where this program goes after dropping a contest to Alabama:
Flipping the Script, Moving on to Florida...
“We need to move on, which we have. We’ll meet with our football team today, turn the page and get ready for Florida,” Kelly said on Monday. “Great rivalry game and an opportunity to play at Tiger Stadium. Winning a football game in the SEC is very difficult to come by. This is a game that has always been closely fought. This will be another great game in Tiger Stadium. Florida’s Tennessee win is a great win. The offensive production by Graham Mertz this year is outstanding. The running game is as good as there is in the SEC. The freshmen wide receivers are outstanding.
“This is a really good offense. They’re playing a lot of young guys on defense. They are athletic and can run to the football. They’re looking to build on some really good performances they’ve had. This will be a great matchup.”
On Saturday's Loss to Alabama...
“You have to play your absolute best to beat a team like Alabama,” Kelly said. “We got the game into the fourth quarter with a chance to win the game. The way our guys handled the moment was another step that we wanted to get to. We want to win those games. We got to coach better in those situations. We’ve got to make some more plays. We did some really good things. You have to be elite on the road.”
