LSU drops to No. 5 in AP Poll rankings over bye week

Following a bye week, the Tigers dropped one spot to No. 5 in the AP Poll rankings. LSU was eclipsed by No. 4 Ohio State, who put a beating on unranked Nebraska 48-7 on Saturday.
Alabama overtook Clemson for the No. 1 spot after Clemson struggled to put Mack Brown's North Carolina team away 21-20. Georgia stayed put at the No. 3 spot followed by the Buckeyes.

The Tigers rank ahead of other SEC schools Auburn (No. 7), Florida (No. 10) and Texas A&M (No. 25) to round out the top-25. One of the big games in the SEC is the No. 7 ranked Tigers traveling to Gainesville to take on the No. 9 Gators.
LSU is back in action this week when Utah State comes to Baton Rouge for an 11 a.m. kickoff in Tiger Stadium. The Aggies are coming off a 34-24 win over Colorado State on Saturday led by quarterback Jordan Love's 204 yards passing and two touchdowns as well as running back Gerold Bright, who ran for 179 yards in the win.
