Recruits React: LSU Dishes Out New Offer, Hosts Dynamic Wideout

The Tigers welcomed several visitors to town over the weekend, dished out a new offer to a Louisiana native.

LSU is heating up on the recruiting trail, and after another busy weekend of prospects making their way to Baton Rouge for visits, the Tigers could start seeing their efforts pay off.

This weekend, the Tigers welcomed one of the top prospects on their "wish list" in four-star wide receiver Drelon Miller, who is set to make a college decision on June 29th.

Who accompanied Miller on the visit? None other than four-star quarterback commit Colin Hurley.

Another big move LSU made this weekend was by wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton. Hankton offered one of the top performers at the Tigers’ 7v7 camp on Saturday in Terrebonne wideout Kylan Billiot.

Here’s a look into the big weekend and a few reactions from the visitors:

Drelon Miller - 2024 Wide Receiver

Miller, one of the top wideouts in America, made his way to town where he was accompanied by four-star quarterback commit Colin Hurley.

Hurley made the trek in from Florida to help the Tigers’ recruiting efforts for one of the top prospects on their big board. For Miller, he’ll make his decision later this month with the Tigers among his finalists.

LSU will battle it out against a number of SEC programs including Georgia, Tennessee and Florida along with USC and Miami, among others.

Brian Kelly and Co. got Miller down South to take in the scenes of Baton Rouge, and with Hurley making it a point to get in on the action, it benefitted this program significantly.

LSU and USC are the two programs looking to separate themselves from the pack over the next few weeks, but with June 29 locked in as the commitment date, the Tigers are going to keep their foot on the gas.

Kylan Billiot - 2024 Wide Receiver

2024 Houma (La.) Terrebonne wide receiver Kylan Billiot made his way to campus to compete in LSU’s 7v7 camp on Saturday. It was a dominant day for Billiot, a prospect the Tigers have had their eyes on for the last year, where he ultimately earned an offer from his “dream school.”

Coach Cortez Hankton and Joe Sloan pulled Billiot aside following a dominant showing in the championship game and offered the Louisiana native. The Tigers have a rich history of in-state wide receivers thriving in their system. Can Billiot be up next? It’s looking likely.

Billiot has been waiting for an offer from LSU for years, and finally earning one ahead of his senior season, the Tigers immediately became the team to beat in his recruitment.

Colin Hurley - 2024 Quarterback

Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy quarterback and four-star LSU commit Colin Hurley made his way back to Baton Rouge for a visit with Brian Kelly and the coaching staff.

Hurley made his way from Florida where he took in the scenes this weekend before heading to the Elite 11 Finals next weekend in Los Angeles.

For the dynamic signal-caller to earn an invite for the event is another prestigious honor to add to Hurley’s list of accolades.

The headliner of Brian Kelly’s 2024 recruiting class, Hurley performed in Oxford (Miss.) last month where he earned top honors during the event.
