JaCoby Stevens wins SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week Award for Mississippi State Performance

Stevens one-handed interception was a momentum shift for Tigers Saturday

LSU junior safety JaCoby Stevens was named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his eight tackle performance against the Bulldogs Saturday that included a sack and an interception.

It's the first time Stevens has won the award in his three years with the Tigers. The junior made a momentum-swinging, one-handed interception late in the second quarter, allowing the offense to get the ball back in great field position.

Joe Burrow and company would capitalize, taking a 22-7 lead into the break and never look back.

Stevens has been an integral part to the LSU secondary this season, especially after the team lost Todd Harris in a blowout win over Northwestern State earlier this season. Stevens has 38 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions in seven appearances for the Tigers this season.
