The LSU Injury Report: Texas A&M Week, Whit Weeks' Status

Brian Kelly shined light on the status of freshman linebacker Whit Weeks, Tigers gearing up for season finale.

No. 14 LSU gears up for their regular season finale against Texas A&M this weekend with Jayden Daniels and Co. preparing for their final showdown in Death Valley.

On Monday, Brian Kelly addressed the media where he provided an injury update on a trio of Tigers that looks poised to make an impact against the Aggies.

The LSU Injury Report:

Whit Weeks: Available

True freshman linebacker Whit Weeks didn't play on Saturday night against Georgia State after getting stitches in his foot last week.

Kelly described it as a "nasty gash" in his foot that required stitches, holding him out on Saturday. Despite having the chance to get on the field, the LSU coaching staff decided to play it safe and hold him out.

"He had an accident that left a nasty gash in his foot. Probably could have played the Georgia State game, but we decided not to push him," Kelly said. "However, we are going to need him this weekend."

Weeks had his stitches removed on Sunday, Kelly said during Monday's press conference.

Logan Diggs: Available

LSU running back Logan Diggs has been battling an upper-body injury over the last few weeks that held him out against Georgia State on Saturday night.

Diggs was seen wearing a sling over the last two weeks, but has been progressing well, according to Kelly.

The Tigers' starting running back will be available on Saturday night against Texas A&M in the season finale.

Andre Sam: Available

Safety Andre Sam exited Saturday night's game against Georgia State, but is on track to play against A&M this weekend.

Sam underwent further testing and looks to be ready, according to Kelly.
