The Terry Bussey Sweepstakes: The Latest on the No. 1 ATH in America

In this story:
The LSU football staff has one target remaining on their 2024 Big Board in five-star athlete Terry Bussey.
Bussey, the No. 1 ATH in America, will put pen to paper on Wednesday with a trio of finalists including LSU, Georgia and Texas A&M.
Following visits to Georgia and LSU last week, Bussey traveled to College Station one last time on Saturday and Sunday to wrap up his visit schedule.
Now, his camp is prepared to make a final decision with less than 24 hours until he goes public.
The Latest on Bussey:
National Signing Day Announcement: 9 a.m. CT
Bussey will reveal his decision on Wednesday at 9 a.m. CT from Timpson High (Tex.).
The Buzz: Bussey Down to Two
After speaking with those familiar with the situation, it's clear Bussey is down to a pair of SEC rivals: LSU and Texas A&M.
The current Aggie pledge made his way to College Station over the weekend for a multi-day stay after traveling to Baton Rouge on Wednesday.
Georgia, the third finalist, made their push over the last few weeks, but appear to be at the bottom of the list between the trio of programs.
Those familiar with the situation have stated that Bussey has not made a final decision yet with the statement "50/50" between LSU and Texas A&M coming into the fold.
The LSU Notes:
Despite remaining pledged to the Aggies, Bussey has kept his options open as the Tigers surge in his recruitment.
Last week, LSU got one final crack at the elite-level athlete before he puts pen to paper this upcoming week.
Bussey has been on LSU's campus twice over the last few months with last Wednesday marking his third trip to Baton Rouge since September.
Brian Kelly and Co. had the chance to roll out the red carpet for their final visit with the top player remaining on their 2024 Big Board.
Speaking with those familiar with the situation, LSU's "sell" to Bussey is his ability to be a Swiss Army Knife for this program and make his presence felt in all three phases of the game.
A player that can impact the game in a myriad of ways, his bread and butter will be as a safety/defensive back at the next level, but reps at wide receiver or as a return specialist aren't out of the equation either.
For the Tigers, to secure a player of Bussey's caliber would be the cherry on top to a dynamic 2024 cycle.
LSU has already signed a pair five-star prospects in Trey'Dez Green and and Weston Davis with a third coming on National Signing Day when Dominick McKinley puts pen to paper.
Per On3's Recruiting Rankings, the Tigers have the No. 3 class in the 2024 cycle.
Now, all attention remains on Bussey, where it will be an uphill climb to flip him from Texas A&M, but Kelly's staff will certainly continue working overtime until the coveted prospect puts pen to paper this week.
The Texas A&M Buzz:
"Loyalty" is a word that has been thrown around when discussing Bussey. He's remained loyal to the Aggies, never backing off of his pledge, and it could be a factor in his final decision.
Bussey has continued dialogue with LSU and Georgia down the stretch, but it's clear the Tigers are the program giving him the most to think about.
Brian Kelly and the Tigers have momentum during the final hours, but it remains a "toss up" between both programs less than 24 hours out.
The Aggies hosted Bussey for a multi-day stay over the weekend where he had the chance to connect with the new staff and get face time with new head coach Mike Elko.
Now, the dust has settled on his three trips over the last 10 days as his camp mulls over a final decision. Bussey is set to go public at 9 a.m. CT with what appears to be an LSU vs. Texas A&M battle.
LSU Country will have the latest on Bussey's decision as the final hours near.
