LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers was arrested on Monday night after an officer spotted a handgun in his pocket, LSU Country has learned.

The Tigers’ star wideout was booked on Tuesday morning into the Orleans Parish Jail and was released by Tuesday afternoon.

The arrest occurred late Monday night, but Nabers was not booked until around 2:00 AM on Tuesday.

The Orleans Parish Court docket shows prosecutors have refused to pursue charges on the condition that Nabers does not get his gun returned to him.

The sophomore wide receiver quickly asserted himself as the top option for Brian Kelly and his LSU Tigers in 2022. An offense that lacked explosiveness early in the season, Nabers became the No. 1 guy when called upon.

Leading the team in receptions, yards and yards per catch, the physical wideout developed a connection with Jayden Daniels that looked unstoppable at times. There were times where Nabers could have benefitted off of the long ball, but getting the shifty playmaker the ball in space gave him immediate success.

In two seasons with the Tigers, Nabers has 100 career catches for 1,434 yards and seven touchdowns.

According to NOPD, the incident occurred on the corner of Bourbon and Conti Streets. Nabers was not required to post bond.
