LSU is heating up on the recruiting trail after a successful string of weekends hosting a number of the top prospects in the country. As this weekend nears, it’ll be much of the same with Brian Kelly and his staff bringing in significant talent to Baton Rouge.

The Tigers will host two Lone Star State studs, a rising New Orleans prospect and a few other high-profile recruits to Death Valley as they continue filling out their 2024 class.

A look into a few players making their way to Baton Rouge:

Ka’Davion “KD” Dotson - Cornerback (4-star) - 2024

Kelly’s staff has begun logging some serious hours in the 2024 class, specifically in both Louisiana and Texas. When it comes to the Lone Star State, the Tigers have been putting in work at Duncanville High, the state’s powerhouse program.

LSU will host their top cornerback, Ka’Davion Dotson, for a visit to Baton Rouge this weekend alongside one of his teammates, Caden Durham.

Dotson is fresh off a dominant junior campaign that resulted in a state championship for his squad. The 4-star cornerback propelled his team to another miraculous season which saw recruitment take that next step.

Along with LSU, Dotson is being heavily pursued by in-state schools as well, specifically TCU, where he’s also dropped in for a visit.

With an offer list that has already reached 20+, LSU will have their work cut out for them, but getting the electrifying corner on campus and continuing to dip into the Duncanville pipeline is a massive win for this program.

Caden Durham - Running Back - 2024 (4-star)

This is a big one. For LSU to get the dynamic running to Baton Rouge several times proves a significant level of interest by both parties.

The 4-star Duncanville (Tex.) back is beginning to see his recruitment blow up recently with LSU getting in on the action. Durham is teammates with 5-star EDGE Colin Simmons out in Texas as well. Could the two be a package deal?

Durham, who just completed a junior campaign that ended with a state championship, is a high-priority target for LSU who thoroughly enjoyed his time in Death Valley last fall. Accompanied by a number of the top players in the South, Durham had nothing but positive things to say after the visit.

Another major factor is Durham’s success in track and field. A speedster who is beginning to pick up offers, LSU recently dished out a scholarship as the dual-sport athlete continues shining.

Jowhar Franklin - Defensive Line - 2024

Franklin is another New Orleans native who will be in town this weekend. A high-rising prospect out of John Curtis, it was a productive junior season for the youngster who competes in the Catholic League.

At 6-foot-6, 300 pounds, Franklin already has the physical traits of what an SEC defensive lineman should look like. As he continues putting on muscle and polishing his technique, the sky’s the limit for one of the top players in the state.

Franklin already holds offers from the likes of Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and others. As his recruitment continues exploding, LSU will be heavily in the mix for another top Louisiana prospect, and getting him back on campus once again is a positive sign for this program.

Other visitors expected to be in town:

Kobe Black - 2024 Cornerback (5-star) - Connally High School (Waco, Tex.)

Devin Sanchez - 2025 Cornerback (5-star) - North Shore High School (Houston, Tex.)

Dakorien Moore - 2025 Wide Receiver (4-star) - Duncanville High (Tex.)

Da'Shawn McBryde - 2024 Safety (4-star) - Denham Springs, La.
