WATCH: LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier on Day 2 of Fall Camp

LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier continues progressing as he gears up for his third Fall Camp in Baton Rouge.

The veteran signal-caller is set to handle backup quarterback duties behind Jayden Daniels this season, but when Nussmeier's number is called, he remains ready.

The third-year Tiger has looked sharp through two days in the hot, humid Louisiana weather, battling it out against Daniels with quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan watching.

Here's a look at Nussmeier running with the second unit on Day 2 of camp:

During individual drills, both Nussmeier and Daniels have helped coach up freshman quarterback Rickie Collins. For Nussmeier, he's taken strides in the right direction as a leader but also his overall performance.

It's a small sample size, but the the redshirt sophomore has looked sharp.
