Where Does Miami's Two-Deep Depth Chart Stand?

The Hurricanes are a much deeper team in 2024

The Miami Hurricanes are closing in on the end of spring practice. How does the depth chart look now?

AllHurricanes writer and Locked On Canes podcaster Alex Donno provides his take after seeing multiple UM practices. Here's how Donno sees the Canes.

Quarterback

Starter: Cam Ward

Backup: Reese Poffenbarger

Running Back

Starter: Mark Fletcher

Backup: Ajay Allen

Wide receiver

Starters: Xavier Restrepo, Jacolby George, and Isaiah Horton.

Backups: Ray Ray Joseph, Shemar Kirk, and Joshisa Trader.

Wide receiver note: Early enrollee Ny Carr is someone to watch. He could possibly sneak into the two-deep along with fellow freshman Joshisa Trader.

Tight End

Starter: Elijah Arroyo.

Backups: Riley Williams and Elijah Lofton.

Offensive line

Starters: Jalen Rivers, Samson Okunlola, Zach Carpenter, Anez Cooper, and Francis Mauigoa.

Backups: Matthew McCoy, Ryan Rodriguez, Luis Cristobal, Tommy Kinsler, and Logan Sogapolu.

Defensive line

Starters Elijah Alston, CJ Clark, Akheem Mesidor and Rueben Bain.

Backups Jaden Wayne, Thomas Gore or Marley Cook, Jared Harrison-Hunte, and Nyjalik Kelly.

Let's talk Canes: A player who can be an x-factor Malik Bryant. He was brought in as a linebacker, but he's working as an edge in practice and improving. He could definitely be someone that rises into my two-deep.

Linebackers

Starters: Kiko Mauigoa and Wes Bissainthe.

Backups: Popo Aguirre and Cameron Pruitt.

Nickel/Star

Starter: Meesh Powell or Damari Brown starting

Backup: Dylan Day.

Safeties

Starters: Meesh Powell and Savion Riley.

Backups: Jaden Harris and Zaquan Patterson.

Cornerbacks

Starters: Daryl Porter Jr and Ja’Dais Richard.

Backups: Damari Brown and Robert Stafford.
