The Miami Hurricanes are back from spring break and putting in the work inside and outside of the Indoor Practice Facility.

On Tuesday, the catch that had everyone buzzing was made by true freshman tight end Elija Alston. He made a great grab on a throw from sophomore quarterback Emory Williams in one on one drills while being covered (and interfered with by sophomore DB/LB Kaleb Spencer.

Colleague Liam Willerup and I reacted to practice immediately after the media viewing.

-I thought this was the best practice I've seen from transfer quarterback Reese Poffenbarger. He his freshman receiver Joshisa Trader with an accurate deep ball along with other excellent throws. In one on one's Reese threw a deep ball to Xavier Restrepo, who made an athletic catch against veteran DB Mishael Powell. Restrepo tracks the football so well and makes catches like these routinely in practice.

-The cornerback room is getting an infusion of reinforcements with Damari Brown and Robert Stafford back in practice.

-Today was my closest look at new cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson. He is very animated out there and very thorough when explaining techniques. He reminds me of wide receivers coach Kevin Beard.
