Source: Scott Frost Unlikely To Become Next Miami Hurricanes OC

For a short time he was the suspected frontrunner for the job, but a source tells All Hurricanes that Scott Frost is unlikely to become offensive coordinator at Miami.

I woke up on Wednesday morning feeling like former Nebraska and UCF head coach Scott Frost might be the frontrunner to replace Josh Gattis at Miami.

Then I was told, by someone who has given me accurate information on Miami coaching moves in the past, that Frost won't be coming.

Frost's tenure at Nebraska hit a brick wall, but he built UCF into an undefeated Cinderella in 2017 after having a fruitful seven years as an assistant and co-OC at Oregon. Frost to Miami would have been interesting since he runs his offenses at a brisk tempo and likes to see the ball spread around to multiple targets.

If it isn't Frost, who will it be? No one I speak to seems to have a good grasp at this time as to who the frontrunners are or who has even interviewed for the position. We have brought up names like former UNLV head coach Marcus Arroyo, Baltimore Ravens WR coach Tee Martin, and Texas A&M tight ends coach James Coley as possibilities. No official confirmation has come on any of them to this point.

Mario Cristobal is keeping this search very close to the vest and that might be a good thing. Silence is golden. Media and fan speculation are the types of outside noise that Cristobal prefers to avoid.
