Four-Star Running Back Wants To Visit Miami

Top Florida recruit has visits planned

Miami's coaching staff is recruiting the State of Florida like Bee's on Honey.

Nothing is stopping them from recruiting the best of the best the Sunshine State has to offer. 5-foot-10, 197-pound running back Antwan Raymond recently received an offer from Miami. He was at Clearwater (Fla.) Clearwater Academy International this past season and will be at a different program next fall as the school is closing its football program.

Rivals' has him as a 4-star recruit. He spoke with AllHurricanes about his Miami offer, visit plans, and a timeline for when a commitment could come.

"I just got an offer from Miami, so definitely are going to get a visit from me," said Raymond.

While a visit to Miami hasn't been solidified, he recently visited South Florida, with visits to several other schools this month.

"I am visiting Syracuse March 23rd, West Virginia March 29th, and Rutgers March 30th. I am unsure what schools I am visiting in April."

The Hurricanes are making an impression though on his recruitment as the four-star running back rated by rivals.com explains which schools are standing out his recruitment right now.

"Rutgers, Syracuse, West Virginia, Miami, Kansas, Iowa, and Georgia Tech," said Raymond.

With that being said has Clearwater Academy International standout set any official visits?

"Not yet! I haven't figured out who I am going to take an official visit to."

However, the time to get Raymond on campus is shrinking as a decision is looming in the coming months.

"I'll be making my college decision sometime in June or July."

Not only is it crucial for Miami to get this in-state recruit on campus, but to leave a lasting impression on him to where he would take an official visit potentially right before he makes his college decision. If the staff can do that then the chances for Miami could increase to keep this four-star running back from leaving the state.

Until then, the Hurricanes have an uphill battle to land Raymond. It is also important for the Miami coaching staff to get him to visit during one of the June prospect camps where he can see up close how Miami's staff operates.
