Xavier Restrepo got Miami's indoor practice facility hyped on Wednesday morning.

During drills, Restrepo was matched one on one with safety Mishael Powell. Cam Ward threw deep to the senior receiver who contorted his body to catch the football in the end zone as he fell to the ground. Not only that, Restrepo earned a pass interference flag since Powell was all over him.

Colleague Liam Willerup and I reacted to the sights and sounds of Miami's second spring football practice.

Both of the transfer safeties, Powell (Washington) and Savion Riley (Vanderbilt) look the part with their physical maturity.

JUCO transfer offensive tackle Markell Bell is impossible not to notice at 6-8. He and freshman tight end Elija Lofton had some good moments in blocking drills. Overall, Miami's offensive line looks about as good as they can at this point in spring.

TreVonte' Citizen, now wearing jersey number 23, has been practicing this week with zero restrictions. He missed the entirety of the past two years with injury.

It wasn't just Restrepo who looked good catching passes. Freshmen receivers Joshisa Trader and Ny Carr both looked good running routes and catching deep balls. Trader caught a deep ball on a perfect throw by Jacurri Brown and Carr caught one from Emory Williams right before the media viewing period ended.

Liam and I agreed that the energy level seemed especially high today.
