A touted 2025 local recruit getting national attention is keeping Louisiana Tech football on his radar.

Calvary Baptist Academy's James Simon, rated a four-star recruit by On3 and 247Sports, told On3's Hayes Fawcett that the Bulldogs were one of his top choices. Fawcett published quotes from the Shreveport-area running back on Thursday.

"They’re in my blood, all my family has gone there and they’ll forever be a part of my family," Simon said of Louisiana Tech.

Simon also mentions Alabama, Miami, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame among his top choices. He holds roughly 22 Division I offers, as of March 2024.

Simon has a composite rating of 0.9281 from 247Sports. LA Tech's highest-rated signee since the creation of 247's rating system was defensive lineman LaDarius Love in 2022 with a score of 0.9000

Louisiana Tech currently has two commits in the class of 2025, both three-star recruits from the state of Louisiana. They are Oak Grove quarterback Jackson Bradley and Parkway cornerback Carmaro Mayo.
