Michigan State WR Christian Fitzpatrick Chooses Transfer Destination

The Michigan native is headed elsewhere to wrap up his college career...

As the early stages of the college football offseason presses on, more and more college athletes are settling on new homes out of the transfer portal.

That continued on Friday when former Michigan State wide receiver Christian Fitzpatrick announced via social media that he would continue his career at Marshall University. Fitzpatrick, a redshirt junior, will have two seasons of eligibility remaining with the Thundering Herd.

A native of Southfield, Michigan, Fitzpatrick committed to Louisville out of high school and spent the 2020 season with the Cardinals. He then transferred to MSU in 2021 and spent the last three seasons with the Spartans. Fitzpatrick appeared in 28 games at MSU, tallying 272 receiving yards with one touchdown on 22 receptions. The majority of that production came in this past season.

Fitzpatrick is the second of four Michigan State wide receivers who entered the transfer portal to commit to a new school. Earlier on Friday, sophomore Tyrell Henry announced he was committed to Wisconsin. MSU still awaits decisions from redshirt freshman Jaron Glover and redshirt junior Sebastian Brown, who remain in the portal.
