Hondo,
Can you give me any idea why football at MSU continues to flounder and basketball is always successful? You have so many good things to say about basketball and not a lot about football. I guess we all feel that way.

Howdy Paul!
Izzo has it right. He opens practice and he doesn’t hide behind the iron door like football does. He doesn’t have anything to hide and is frank with the media that what happens in practice stays here and the media honors that. So before you ask why I don’t have the same glowing reports about football, remember that the basketball program wins and competes for championships with an open practice and the football team hasn’t won anything with a Fort Knox mentality around a mediocre program.Â

Hondo,
So what if MSU and JLS win out? I agree that it is time for a change but what do you think.Â
Ryan-Holland
Â
Hi Ryan!
Contrary to what SOME people at MSU would tell you, I hope JLS does win out. I will be rooting for MSU to win them all. I was actually told by an employee of MSU in the athletic department this week when I told him that: “you can’t say he should be gone at the end of the season and then say your hoping we win.” Well I can say that and I am. I would love for MSU to win out and go 8-4, win the bowl game and have the program go through a miraculous healing process and get well. I would LOVE to be wrong. Sadly, the problem is systemic and not just JLS’s fault. Winning out however...I don’t see that.

Hondo,
How does MSU hockey look this year? Will they have last season’s success?
Steve-Battle Creek
Â
Hi Steve!
Rick Comley is a great coach and I think that the team will do well. I think that they will have some depth issues at first, but come the first of the year I think you will see an MSU team firing on all cylinders.
Â
Hondo,
Is it time to go with Hoyer?
Tony-Lansing
Â
Hi Tony!
NOPE! Brian is a great kid from a great family and I am fully comfortable with him as our QB next fall. That said, unless this team gets to 6 loses, it isn’t time for that. Drew is an NFL caliber QB (as Hoyer may become) and after loss #6 you have to protect him for his NFL career. He sacrificed to come back to college and at that point MSU will owe it to protect him.
Â
Hondo,
I think Indiana will be a tough game. What do you think?
Blaine-Indianapolis
Â
Blaine,
I don’t want to get into a lot of detail but Indiana has had this game circled and I think it is a game that MSU could easily lose. That said I am not ready to give up on these kids and I think MSU will win. Sadly a loss wouldn’t surprise me.
Â
Thanks everyone. Let’s all hope for a win in Bloomington!Â
