- Miami Dolphin players think that it is funny how Nick Saban in reacting. They don’t like him or his ways and one media member in Miami told me “the lid is coming off this thing.â€Â He went on to say, “When Nick came we started calling him the Nicktator with how he tried to be Mr. In Charge. Well now that he is losing and needs the media he doesn’t like what he sees.â€Â I love it!
- The Raiders are willing to move Randy Moss but no one is willing to pay much. He does not exactly have a great rep and in the NFL people can’t take to many risks.
- Well I told you that the Tuna didn’t want to add T.O. to his 53-man roster but the KPOS (king of plastic surgery) insisted. Well the players are sick of him and Tuna’s staff has been all along and now KOPS realizes that he is the only supporter left of T.O. With that said I have told you that Tuna is done at the end of the year and he will use this as part of his reason why. In my opinion and that of my source, no one on the Dallas team even likes T.O. and that Bledsoe is “pressing†because he does not want to become the target of a T.O. pity party. On player told me “it is sick how that guy is so self centered. He ran around screaming and hollering like a baby after the game, it is all about him.â€
- Daunte Culpepper and Nick Saban’s argument according to the Nicktator was not why he was benched but friends of Daunte still in the league said it had everything to do with it!
- Sources close to Mike Martz who allowed me to report that he was getting an interview before anyone in the media knew, and who let me know when everyone said it was dead that he was coming to Detroit now tell me more. According to these sources very close to Martz, he not only “loves working with Marinelli and Millen†he is not going to take the first head coaching job that comes his way. “Mike does not need the money and he really believes in what Marinelli is doing. He can’t stop gushing about how smart Marinelli is and that Marinelli is smart enough to listen to just not him, but all of his staff.â€Â “Rod hasn’t been afraid to tell him no, but he treats Mike with such great respect. Mike really sees this team as close and is having so much fun in Detroit there is no way he jumps just to be a head coach. Other then the San Diego job, I don’t think anything could get him out of Detroit. Mike is a different cat, he is moved by respect not money and he has it for Millen and Marinelli and he they give it to him. I know that there has been media that say they don’t get along, but I can tell you that is crap.â€Â “Mike is a man’s man and he likes being able to avoid political crap and speak his mind, and that is exactly how that staff works.â€
- Joe “Dude where’s my clothes Cullen†is not hiding the fact to people that he expects not to be back in Detroit. My opinion: good. The goof got a chance from Sarge and crapped on him and the Lions. Detroit deserves huge props for how this has been handled.
- A very well respected NFL agent told me this morning: “I know you folks in Detroit are not real happy, but I can tell you that I have some defensive free agents that see that lack of D as a great thing for them. They hear from people how awesome it is to play for Marinelli from not only people that play for him but who have played for him.
- Respected Lions vets will be the ones helping get free agents to the Lions next season. These vets (the ones that matter) are in love with Sarge and can see where the team is going. This year is a great sifting of the good from the bad and trust me it is showing. A lot of the very good players who are totally committed see this as the chance to identify who is “part of the solution.â€Â They totally believe that the Lions are close and a few key free agents and a good draft can have this team in the playoffs. Trust me people the microscope in that locker room is the best thing that has ever happened to the Lions. Guys are not thinking about the next contract they are thinking about getting back to the playoffs right now and that is refreshing.
- Folks in Tampa Bay are very frustrated with the loss of Sarge. One source from the Bucs said to me “you can totally relate the loss of Rod to the slump we are having. He goes and the d-line goes to S***!
- Lastly here is a list of coaching vacancies for last season that I am already aware will be coming:
- Titans: Jeff Fisher will be gone. He will get immediate offers.
- Steelers: Bill Cowher is done (would love the Carolina job but Fox isn’t going anywhere.
- Redskins: Joe Gibbs will leave and will not be back. Will focus on NASCAR.
- Dallas:Â Tuna will use the T.O. situation to leave town.
Please remember that you read here first that these would happen.
