Statement of Prosecutor Dunnings:

 

On November 22, there was an incident at Rather Hall on the Michigan State University campus. While an extensive investigation by the Michigan State University Police Department is ongoing, we have reached a stage where it is appropriate that charges be issued. 

 

Today, charges have been authorized:

 

Count one: “Conspiracy to Commit an Assault and Battery” against the following individuals: 

 

(Note: Additional charges of “Assault and Battery” are listed. All nine individuals are charged with Conspiracy, which is a misdemeanor with a one-year maximum. The other charges are also misdemeanors, and have a 93-day maximum.)

 

Roderick Jenrette, age 22, of East Lansing;Â also 3 counts of Assault or Assault and Battery.

 

Glenn Winston, 20, East Lansing;Â also 2 counts of Assault or Assault and Battery.

 

Frederick Smith, 19, Macomb Twp.; also 1 count of Assault or Assault and Battery.

 

Bryan Cunningham, 20, Lansing; also 1 count of Assault or Assault and Battery.

 

Jamiihr Williams, 20, East Lansing; also 1 count of Assault or Assault and Battery.

 

Mark Dell, 20, Lansing; also 1 count of Assault or Assault and Battery.

 

Ashton Leggett, 20, Muskegon; also 2 counts of Assault or Assault and Battery.

 

J’Micheal Deane, 23, East Lansing; also 1 count of Assault or Assault and Battery.

 

Christopher Ledonte Rucker, 21, East Lansing; also 1 count of Assault or Assault and Battery.
