  • The Lions practiced on the indoor field in shells (shoulder pads, helmets and shorts) today at the team headquarters and training facility in Allen Park.
  • The team announced today that they have placed S Marcus Demps (knee) on the Practice Squad Reserve/Injured list and signed S Etric Pruitt to the practice squad. Pruitt was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft after playing collegiate football at Southern Mississippi. He went back and forth from the Falcons' practice squad and active roster (played in three games) in 2004 and was with Atlanta during the 2005 preseason. Pruitt signed to the Seattle Seahawks practice squad September 14, 2005, joined their active roster November 4 and played in six regular season games and all three postseason games, including Super Bowl XL (2/5) in Detroit.
  • CB Dré Bly has forced a fumble in both games for Detroit this season. He forced a RB Shaun Alexander fumble in the second quarter against Seattle (9/10) and then stripped the ball away from WR Bertrand Berry in the third quarter at Chicago (9/17).
  • Since joining the Lions prior to the 2003 season, Bly has intercepted QB Brett Favre four times in six games against the Packers.
  • The following players have been listed on the Detroit Lions' injury report: WR Shaun Bodiford (knee), S Kenoy Kennedy (foot) and LB Alex Lewis (knee) are out. T Barry Stokes (hamstring), T Rex Tucker (knee) and G Ross Verba (hamstring) are questionable. DE Cory Redding and DT Shaun Rogers were removed from the injury list today after being listed Wednesday as probable. Bodiford, Kennedy, Lewis, Stokes and Tucker each missed the team portion of practice today. CB Fernando Bryant (personal reasons) also did not practice today.
  • The following players have been listed on the Green Bay Packers' injury report: T Junius Coston (knee) is doubtful. CB Will Blackmon (foot), CB Al Harris (shoulder), TE David Martin (knee) and G Jason Spitz (thigh) are questionable. Blackmon, Coston and Spitz each missed the team portion of practice today. Green Bay did not list any changes to their injury report today.
  • The Lions will host the Packers Sunday in a NFC North division match-up at Ford Field. This week, Detroit will look to get their first win after a difficult 34-7 loss to the defending NFC North division-winning Chicago Bears while Green Bay looks to rebound from a heartbreaking 34-27 home loss to the New Orleans Saints.

LIONS HEAD COACH ROD MARINELLI
On the injury report: "(Shaun) Bodiford is out still, Kenoy (Kennedy) is out, Alex Lewis is out, Barry Stokes is still questionable, (Rex) Tucker is questionable, (Ross) Verba is questionable - although, he made most of the practice and that's it. Fernando Bryant is a personal matter right now."

On if CB Fernando Bryant has been excused from practice: "Yes."

On if Bryant will be ready for the game: "I want to say yes."

On how bad T Rex Tucker's injury is and if there is more to it: "No, it's just that we're getting it checked just to make sure. You got to go in and check every phase again with it. He was sore and we just want to - whatever they do, however they look at it - just make sure it's right."

On what Tucker's injury is: "It's that deep bone bruise that he had."

On if it's the same injury as before: "Yeah, it just got very aggravated coming off a tough game; so he was checking it to make sure everything is right."

On if it looks like he'll be using T Jonathan Scott at right tackle: "Yeah, he worked all day a little bit. He's a good young player; he's a guy we like and he's got a ton of reps. It's the NFL, you start the season and you know there's injuries - no question, everybody gets them and we're just going to line up the guys we got. We coached them all through camp and we feel very good about whoever lines up for us. We have some young guys playing on defense too and we feel comfortable with them and they've just got to carry themselves like starters."

On if the players are showing the same hunger that they had in the beginning and if there's any negativity coming off of a second loss: "No, we just pound right at them and they seem to accept every challenge. They're prideful men now; they got a lot of pride and worked a very, very good - two very good days. But, there's no guarantee's of good days and I always try and tell them it just gives you the preparation you need for Sunday. Sunday, you got to go out and execute and perform and play with the details that we're practicing with."
