• K Jason Hanson kicked four field goals in today's game (41, 47, 45 and 52), the 21st time in his career he has made four field goals in a game. 
• His fourth field goal was a 52-yarder, his third 50-yarder of the season. With three 50-yard field goals this season, it marks the first time in his career he has hit at least three 50-yard field goals in back-to-back seasons.
• The 52-yard field goal was Hanson's 33rd 50-yard field goal of his career.
• Hanson finished the day with 14 points (4 FGs and 2 PATs), which ties his season high for points scored in a game.
• Today's game marked Hanson's 250th career game (franchise high), and his league-record 16th Thanksgiving Day game.
• Hanson has now hit at least four field goals in four Thanksgiving Day games he has played, and has hit at least three field goals on Thanksgiving in four of the past six years.
• RB Kevin Jones, who finished the day with 20 attempts for 93 yards (4.7 avg.), scored on a 1-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. It was his team-high sixth TD of the season.
• RB Aveion Cason's 74-yard return was the longest kickoff return for the Lions since Eddie Drummond's 92-yard kickoff return TD at Minnesota (11/21/04).
• WR Calvin Johnson's 7 receptions for 83 yards are both game highs for him thus far in his career.
• DE Jared DeVries recovered his third fumble of the season, a team high.
• With a field goal following the Lions recovery of the Packers fumble on their first possession, they have now recorded 100 points off takeaways this season.
• The fumble recovery was the team's 16th on the season (league high) and the 31st takeaway (league high) of the year.

GREEN BAY NOTES

• QB Brett Favre completed a franchise record 20-straight passes.
• Favre threw for 300 yards for the seventh time this season, which ties a franchise record he set in 1995.

LIONS HEAD COACH ROD MARINELLI
Opening statement: "Injuries: it's Jonathan Scott who had a pretty severe hamstring so we'll have to wait and see how that goes. Stanley Wilson had some things with his knee and I'm not quite sure what that is right now so we'll check it.

"A real short wrap up on this thing. In reality we had a lot of opportunities early. We had the opportunities and we didn't cash in. Some penalties hurt us. We had a chance to get some touchdowns and we didn't do that. We ended up getting field goals. I was trying to get the defense a long field and hoping to clock the game early with the running game and to keep number 4 off the field as much as we could. We weren't able to do that long enough and he capitalized against us."  

On the early mistakes: "We can't have penalties, I say it each week. It can be from offsides, to a chop block, to holding. We just can't beat ourselves and we did."

On WR Calvin Johnson's struggles: "Yeah he did. He's just got to make those plays and it's about execution. He can and he will. He is a heck of a player and we just have to keep coaching him and keep getting him better. I thought in the second half he did some real nice things for us."

On whether they made a conscious effort to involve Johnson more: "Yeah, and he is getting a little bit healthier right now too. We just have to get the big guy going and the running game came alive a little bit. I was hoping that we would be able to keep it close enough where we were able to keep running the ball and I wanted to work the clock as much as I could."

On if his team can handle the pressure: "For the last three weeks no question we have not, but we handled it in an overtime win against Minnesota and we handled it in a tough environment in Oakland. I don't know if I'd go that far with it. To me it is still making the plays when you are supposed to make them. I have got to coach better."

On why T George Foster was inactive: "We felt that Jonathan (Scott) was ready to go today. The thing with Blaine (Saipaia) is that he can play other spots for us. He has a lot of position flexibility. That's why we did it."

On why DT Shaun Cody was inactive: "It was going to be one of those two, Langston (Moore) or Cody. I stayed with Langston."

On why he started DE Jared DeVries over DE Kalimba Edwards: "I think that Jared is playing very well. I have been very pleased with how he is playing. With Dewayne coming back we have a nice three man rotation. Dewayne will play some right end and then he played some left end and then Kalimba comes in. Those three guys will rotate."

On when Packers QB Brett Favre was on fire: "I have played him enough and I told you last week he is playing as good as I've ever seen him play. I played against him since 1996. That was my concern going into this game: the release, the speed. We played man and we played zone and we struggled on all. It is very tough to sack this guy. He has given up 14 sacks the entire year. We knew that going in. You just have to keep the ball in front and we have to just tackle better. We had to tackle. The biggest thing was we had those opportunities early and we had to be able to do that and try to keep them off the field."

On the overall playoff picture: "Just like I told them afterwards: we have to get right back to it. I am never going to change - ever. I think you know me well enough. There is no panic in my life. I just don't live that way. What I do look forward to is getting our team in tomorrow. I do look forward to the challenge that is ahead of us. It is a tough challenge. I've been down this road many times. I just believe in the players, I believe in work habits, I believe in work. I want to come in and look at the film and correct it, see the corrections and then we have to move forward. I am going to give them a little bit of rest over the weekend. We will come back in on Monday and we just have to improve. That is about football; that is the one thing in football: you go farther with toughness and character than any other sport. I have to make sure I am emphasizing that. I've got to set the example and set the tone in terms of leadership."

LIONS QB JON KITNA
On not being able to convert touchdowns early in the game: "Yeah, we had an unfortunate penalty and I think it was such a judgment call. I didn't get a chance to see it, but Dom (Raiola) felt like it wasn't necessarily the case and then you know we came back out, got a turnover; I took a shot and just wasn't able to convert. You know, it was unfortunate that we couldn't score, but with that being said we kept hanging in there, kept fighting and we tried to give ourselves a chance in the fourth quarter and you just tip your hat to them. They played a great game on offense today and were really effective on defense for the most part."

On whether many of the mistakes were 'self-inflicted' wounds: "Well, anytime you get down inside the 30-yard line that's the red zone really. Against anybody it's tough to score down there and (Green Bay) is the same. When you play against this team, you don't have guys that are just open. They always have a guy near us and you just try to put the ball on them and hope your guy can make a play. You know, they made more plays than us today and that was unfortunate. You have one-on-one battles and you're trying to give your guy a chance to make a play and then they make the play."

On the effort to get WR Calvin Johnson involved today: "Yeah, I mean you cannot try to force somebody the ball in this game - it will get you in trouble. This offense, this system is built on going through your reads and doing what coach asks you to do. That's how he wants me to play the game and that's how I have to play the game - I'm just doing what I'm asked to do. Today we tried to give Calvin the ball and it just didn't work out, especially early in the game."

On the running game having a nice day: "Yeah, you know you're trying to find that balance I guess. Not necessarily that you're going to be a 50-50 team, but we have to be able to run effectively. The hard thing with that is - I think our best personnel group is when we have four wide receivers and one running back on the field; that causes problems for defenses. You're kind of caught right in between and it makes it difficult. Like you said, we ran the ball well in the first half - had over 100-yards rushing and I think we had the ball for over 20 minutes in the first half and we were down by 8 points. It comes down to converting on third downs and scoring in the red zone and we just didn't do that today."

LIONS RB KEVIN JONES
On the offense not seeming to click until the second half: "We basically threw away a lot of the opportunities that we had. We had some big returns by Aveion Cason, a few key first downs and got in the red zone and couldn't put the ball in the endzone. It would've been a different outcome if those field goals were touchdowns. That really killed us: too many field goals. We've got to put seven on the board when we get opportunities."

On if the game was a case of missed opportunities: "Yeah, I think so. I'm not taking anything away from Green Bay - I think they're a great team with a fantastic quarterback - but I think we've got a lot of those same elements, and we don't take advantage of the opportunities that we get. That really killed us today."

On fixing the red zone problems: "I really don't have an answer at this point. I know we've got to go in, the staff has to talk about it, and we've got to see what game plan we've got to do and what plays we need to execute in the red zone. That's the only thing that is going to help us. We've got to have seven instead of three. You add all those (field goals) up, and it's killing us."

On how he feels physically after two games in five days: "I feel good. I was a little shaky coming in, I thought I wasn't able to do what I wanted to do, but game time came, adrenalin was working, and I just went with it. I just tried to tough it out, and it worked out for me."

LIONS WR CALVIN JOHNSON
On missing early opportunities: "Yeah, we did. I let a few get away in the first half. It's something you've got to take responsibility for and move on."

On being very involved in the game: "It's good but, like I said, we missed some opportunities - I did. We've got to take responsibility for those and move on."

On the tough penalties early on: "I don't know about the penalties, but we practiced well this week. But I know I didn't (execute well), especially in the first half. You've just got to execute better. That's something that we can do and I didn't do. Like I said, we've got to take responsibility for this loss and move on."

On how this loss impacts this team: "I mean, it's tough, but we've got a lot of character and we can bounce through it."

LIONS DT CORY REDDING
On what they could have done differently to win this game: "If we would have done a little bit more, made our plays, stepped up and challenged the ball a little bit more and pressured the quarterback a little bit more then things probably would have swung our way, but it didn't happen. (Favre) made great plays, he was what he is for his offense and that was it."

On whether the Packers took momentum when they moved to the five wide set: "I was just playing the game, that's a coaches thing right there; I can't answer that question."

On what they do now to turn things around: "You just need to grit your teeth, look at your teammates and say 'hey, let's not give up, let's not pack in the tents and just call it a season and quit. No, no, we need to go back to work and have a great week of practice. We need to knuckle down and just go out there and find a way to win next week, period. We can't just dwell on this, be all sad and down. No, we need to put this behind us, learn from it and we need to battle our butts off next week and get some wins; period."

LIONS S KENOY KENNEDY
On what happened defensively: "Well, Brett (Favre) just did what he does. He's cool, calm and collected in the pocket and he gets the ball out quick and just lets the receivers do the rest."

On what goes through his mind when he hears about Packers QB Brett Favre's 20 straight completions: "You know, it can be a little misleading. In some of the defenses we play we allow the receiver to catch it in front of us and drive up and tackle so it can be a little misleading. We'll go back and watch the film, but the ones where we got man coverage and the guy still catches the ball then we'll have to check on that."

On whether they can bounce back from a three game losing streak: "You have to. If you don't or you can't, then you don't need to be on this team and in this locker room. Everybody needs to suck it up, be a man, look themselves in the mirror and see what you can do to improve yourself and then be ready to go back to work."

PACKERS HEAD COACH MIKE MCCARTHY
Injury Report: "Injuries: Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila had an ankle injury, did not return. Charles Woodson had a toe injury, did not return. Aaron Rouse had a knee, he did return. Colin Cole had a forearm fracture, did not return."

On going pass-heavy: "Well, you never think (Favre is) going to miss one. As far as the heavy pass, we went to that in the second quarter, and it was really a reaction to what was there. I had anticipated a little different variety in some of the formations, personnel groups that we're in. We just went that way, just more of a reaction to how they were playing us."

On the offensive success: "Well, that's what you look for. To be able just to spin him in there with good tempo and the quarterback is making good decisions. The protection was outstanding again today. The passing game has no chance if you don't have the protection we've had and the quarterback is throwing it very accurately and our receivers are making a bunch of plays - yards after the catch. We've been consistent in that area all year, and we need to continue to do so. I was frustrated with the way we started the game on offense, with the fumble and then the three-and-out, but then we were able to get our run game going as the game progressed."

On FS Aaron Rouse's play: "I thought Aaron Rouse's play in the game was huge for our team. Coming in here, we knew this was going to be a dog fight, as far as the environment, the opponent, everything at stake in the division and so forth. I thought our defense was outstanding, holding them to field goals early, and Aaron Rouse's play was huge, because we were able to go up 7-6 when we really didn't do anything on offense yet. I thought that was a huge play in the game."

On Favre's completion streak: "Somebody mentioned something around 17, but, to be honest with you, it kind of irritates me when people hit me with that, especially in the middle of the third quarter when the game is tight. So, congratulations to Brett. It seems like he breaks a record every time we play on Sundays. I was aware there was a record there, but I didn't know the specifics of it."

PACKERS QB BRETT FAVRE
On his completion streak: "I wasn't aware that that had happened. I knew we were moving the ball and passing the ball as efficient as we had all year. That's what was working today. We've just kind of got to go with the flow."

On how he made so many consecutive completions: "I threw it, they caught it. Nothing spectacular, as far as…nothing like overtime against Denver. It was kind of methodically moving the ball down the field. What can you say about Donald Driver? I told him, walking off the field right at the end, I said, 'You don't have to score touchdowns to be awesome.' Of course, he knows that, but he makes those 3 yard catches look unbelievable. A couple of them I threw it, and he was behind the line of scrimmage. Stuff like that, nothing spectacular. It was just: get it into our guys' hands and let them make plays."

On when he was aware that he set the team record for consecutive completions: "I didn't know. Tell me, how many was it? Well, I'd rather have the good ones, I guess. If you complete passes, you're giving those guys a chance to score. Today was about as good of an example as I can give you, as far as dumping them off and letting them make plays."

On the run game: "Well, I guess there comes a time where, at some point, you've got to be able to run the ball. We tried to run it at the end of the game to eat up the clock. Mike (McCarthy) and I talked about it after the game, he said, 'I should've just kept doing what we were doing.' If I look at it from his point of view, you'd like to be able to run it out. For the most part a lot less can happen. But, right now what seems to be working for us is lining up in shotgun, spread it out, and just get it to those guys. One week, maybe it's down the field throws, the other week it's short, efficient passes. Teams really aren't doing anything crazy to us defensively. It's coming down to execution. Today I thought we executed extremely well."

On going with the pass consistently: "Until they stop it, I guess that's what you say. Up to this point, (passing) has been very good for us. Who knows what happens next week. I keep saying all along, we need balance, but we also need to do what we do and do it well. If it's throwing the ball, we've got to throw it. The thing is, when you get a team that can put pressure on you with four guys or three guys, it makes it much more difficult, because there are more guys in the coverage. Many times, they got to us a little bit today, but I got to the point, where I'm just, catch it, throw it to the guy as quickly as possible, and whatever happens after that… I'll take my chances that way. Now, you kind of put the ball in the other team's court, and you say, 'Look, tackle him.' I know one thing: Donald Driver is hard to tackle."

PACKERS WR GREG JENNINGS
On helping QB Brett Favre set records and just playing with him: "He is going to set records week in and week out. All we are trying to do is go out there and do our part and that is catch the ball and get first downs for him. As long as he is playing the way he is playing, the sky is the limit for this team."

On what it was like to score some touchdowns back here in Michigan: "It felt great. Anytime you can get in the end zone it feels good. Obviously he was finding me down in the red zone and we were connecting and scoring touchdowns so it always feels good."

On being back in Michigan: "Anytime you can put on a good performance in front of your family and your friends it just makes it that much better."

On being the first option inside the red zone: "I wouldn't say I am the first option. It has been opening up and it has been looking as though I am that guy that gets open. We are all just working hard to try to get the ball in our hands and try to get in the end zone and he has been finding us."

On if he could have imagined being 10-1: "It's a great feeling, I will tell you that. We knew we were going to be a successful team. Ten-and-one, I don't know if we thought that, but we are confident in this room with what each other can do and what with opposing teams we can schematically scheme up to put us over the top. We have been going out there and running the right plays and moving the chains and it works out in our favor sometimes."

LIONS DE AARON KAMPMAN
On RB Kevin Jones running the ball: "We talked about that as a team that they may, the way that they had run the ball the last two weeks and kind of abandoned it in some ways. We thought it might be possible that they would do that. We didn't know, and obviously Martz is the kind of guy that will keep you guessing. We did what we did. The first drive wasn't exactly what we wanted to have happen, but after that we really rebounded well and thought we did a nice job."

On the poor start to the game: "We just keep playing. We deal with reality and we really felt like we could play with this team and do very, very well and have some success. Regardless of the circumstance, we are just going to keep playing and I think that is really a testament to our team regardless of how young we are. We just keep going."

On getting ready for Dallas next week: "Yeah it will be a big showdown indeed. We'll enjoy this one for a little bit. It is Thanksgiving, go home and celebrate with the family. In 24 or 48 hours we'll be focused pretty squarely on Dallas."
