GODell gets posted up at NFL rookie symposium!

Â
New NFL commissioner Roger Goodell A.K.A. GODell has yielded a heavy stick since taking over America’s greatest pro sports league when it comes to player conduct. This week the NFL conducted it’s annual rookie symposium. What it basically is, is a conference where they continually remind a bunch of kids that are about to get some serious jack that they need to play nice and stay out of trouble or GODell will not play nicey (yes I spelt it that way on purpose) and will suspend them. You never know he may also take away their Lincoln Logs, something to this day I have to go to therapy for since my Lincoln Logs spent more time on the shelf then on the floor. Every punishment I had ended with, “And put away your Lincoln Logs buster.”

Â
I talked with two players that were in the meetings and they came away with two really juicy pieces of information for your reading pleasure. Heisman winner and former QB from the Ohio State University, Troy Smith posted GODell up on why he always dwells on the negative. Well GODell “tried to avoid the question” according to a source at the event and Smith went right back at him by telling him, “You didn’t answer my question.”

Â
You got to love the brass on that kid. He is a great example of being a quality kid after struggling and getting his life together and in his first NFL league wide meeting he posts up the Commissioner. Not just any commissioner but GODell!

Â
Oh by the way, the second tid bit that both players confirmed was that, “For a guy that leads the most powerful league in the world, the dude sucks as a speaker. I have heard strength and conditioning coaches with better speaking skills.”

Â
Overall I must admit that I like GODell’s approach with player conduct but I think his heavy hand on many other area’s of the league is not good, and I can tell you that the teams are in for a rude awakening when he implements more of his plans. More on that coming at a later date.
