Hondo,
I am disappointed that I am so concerned with a player of questionable integrity such as S. Rogers, but when is he coming back and is he as huge to this D-Line as I think?
Troy
Hi Troy! I have a lot of concerns with S ROG. He could be huge but which S ROG shows up? If the one that played against Seattle last year shows up that is huge. If he is the one that usually shows up it is a flop.Â

Hondozer,
1. Will Teddy Lehman contribute this year and if so at what level?
2. At what point do the Lions get desperate and trade for a decent CB? Will they wait for Fernando to get hurt (which is only a matter of time) or will they be proactive?
Jeremy
Hello Jeremy! I think that Teddy has to or he won’t be back next year. He is a great guy and was huge his rookie season, but he has struggled since. I am rooting for him, but I think he has an uphill battle.

Hondo I have multiple, choose one, multiple or none, its up to you boss.
1. What is the status of TJ, what role will he play?
2. Why is Martz so damn excited about Tatum Bell? That is all he talks about. I hope he has the impact Martz thinks he will.
3. Why is Jeff Backus overpaid? Will he ever perform according to his pay?
4. What the heck is Drew going to do all season?
Mike
#1 He is the back up back. In fairness he can’t have red zone fumbles but watch the film and you see him getting hit before he can even gain momentum. He will be a huge factor and I am not worried about the fumble. Having followed him since high school that is not a trait that he carries with him. #2 Martz loves speed. Tatum has issues with fumbling and durability, as well as breaking tackles. I hope he is past that but in a nutshell it is all speed. #3 Because if the Lions didn’t overpay him he wouldn’t have stayed. The Lions looked at what was available and felt like it was a good choice. Last year proved it wasn’t and all we can hope for is that he steps up this year. #4 Certainly not practice with the team, since he is not allowed. Some think that putting him on the IR was good for the Lions but I don’t see it. IF he is your guy of the future (and he better be with where they picked him) I just don’t get it.

Hey Hondo!
I've got a couple of Lions questions for you:
I know I'm thinking ahead on this one, but if/when Mike Martz lands another head-coaching gig, who do you see taking over the OC job? I'm just wondering if they're grooming any assistants to be his successor. (I'm assuming they'd want to keep the same style of offense because it is successful and it would maintain continuity.)
My second question concerns the defensive line. We all know that Kalimba is under the gun to produce (and rightfully so), but I'm wondering if Shaun Cody is also going to be under similar pressure to show something. I don't want to over-react to one preseason game, but if the trend continues, could Langston Moore move ahead of Cody on the depth chart?
Thanks as always,
Greg
#1 I don’t see Martz getting a quick job. He has baggage and I think that it would be interesting to see where he would go. I am sure that they have a plan but Martz isn’t going anywhere unless the Lions do well. Here is an idea, let’s hope he does get a job, that means the Lions did great. #2 Don’t over react to one game, but do keep an eye on it. I love Shaun but he has to step up this season. He has to have a huge year.

Hondo,
Will Donte Curry be able to stay on the team?  How many LB's will make the final roster?Â
I see about 5 different WR's vying for the 5th WR spot. Who leads? Waters?
We have 11 OLinemen vying for 9 or 10 spots, is Woody still the odd man out with Davis and Peterman more likely to make the squad ahead of him @ RG?
Brandon of Missouri from the Lions Underground
#1 I hope so, I love Donte. I don’t think the Lions know yet how many LB’s that they will carry so I can’t tell you buddy. #2 Whom ever does kick returning the best. #3 I think it is a real battle. Woody played badly as you know against the Bengals but no one stepped up. I am going to watch that real close this Saturday.

I had to tell you that I was one of your biggest critics because you always were so positive about the Lions. It is nice to see you being honest in your criticism.
Craig
Thanks Craig. I have got a lot of email like yours. Listen buddy, I love the Lions. I want them to do well. I also told you all during the off-season that you had to remember that there was no hitting or pads. These guys have to step it up and I think they will.

I am so glad you mentioned Baldwin’s play. I really love him and I had the pleasure of watching him in college. He will be a great one.
Sam
Hi Sam! He is so athletic. He has a lot of ground to cover but his athleticism is something to get real excited about.

Now that you have seen the Lions play a game are you backing down from 9 wins?
Mark
I am not Mark. In Marinelli I trust! Thanks everybody.
