• On Friday’s Hondo’s House my guest will be University of Illinois head basketball coach Bruce Weber.
• Lions will proceed with their grievance against Charles Rogers. They are trying to recoup $10.184 million of his $14.4-million signing bonus because they say the drug suspension he served last season put him in default of his contract. Make no mistake they want to keep Charles, but they have to be accountable to the organization.
• Defensive tackle Shaun Rogers was flown to Indianapolis from Houston to have his shoulder checked by the Lions' doctors, all of who were in Indy. The trip also gave Rogers the opportunity to meet with Marinelli and Henderson.
• My sources in Baton Rouge are telling me that Joseph Addai from LSU, the RB is ecstatic after his performance at the NFL combine. Most importantly Joseph, the scouts are telling me that they are about you!
• Do you remember me telling you about Florida's Chad Jackson, and his performance at the combine? Well boys and girls, 3 NFL folks have told me that on their draft board he has moved into a first round guy.
• One man that got a lot of Lions hearts pounding as well as many NFL scouts was USC lineman Winston Justice, you will hear a lot of talk about him around Lion land.
• Michael Huff however made such an impact, that I will tell you that the Lions would have a lot of trouble neglecting him at the 9 pick. They could put him there back with Kenoy Kennedy and leave him there for 10 years. One NFL scout told me “he is as good or better then Sean Taylor of the Skins, but not a head case!”
• A.J. Hawk is the kind of guy the Lions want desperately. He wooed the Lions with his interview as did Huff. That also is a name to keep in mind. He absolutely floored NFL scouts, like one told me: “if you’re a football guy and came away from an interview and workout with Hawk not in love, your in the wrong business.”
• On Monday, after a short break from the combine, a Steeler source told me "that is when we will start talking to Bill” Cowher about an extension.
• Baseball teams (read Rangers) have all but given up hope of signing Roger Clemens. I just got off the phone with a source close to the Astros and he was “giddy” that it was almost a sure thing that at some time after the season started the Rocket would be back in the starting rotation for the Astros.
• 10 year NBA veteran Tony Delk from Kentucky (yeah Megan) signed with the Pistons yesterday, details were not disclosed!
• It is only 7 months and 5 days until the MSU vs. UM football game!
