MHSAA Basketball Report - February 20, 2015

We are inching closer and closer to the high school playoffs as we come together for this installment of the Spartan Nation High School Basketball Report. Two weeks from Monday we will be into district action. There isn’t much time left and many conference titles are on the line in the next week or two. They need to be ready because everyone is hungry at this time of year.  Let’s get right to it.

Cottrell’s BLOWOUT of the Week

McBain 93 Marion 14 (79 points) (February 3, 2015)

Marion isn’t having a good season if you couldn’t tell.

High Score of the Week/Century Club

Cedarville 100 Rudyard 86 (186 points) (February 11, 2015)

This game was dominated by Joey Duncan. He scored 45 of his team’s 100 points. He even tied the state record for most three point shots made in a quarter with seven. Brett Masuga scored 14 in the winning effort. For Rudyard, five players scored in double digits. They included Travis Myers with 17, Zack Steikar and Carlos Molina with 16, Owen Mills with 14, and Austin Trotter with 12.

Low Score of the Week

Detroit Communications and Media Arts 40 Detroit Southeastern 20 (60 points) (February 6, 2015)

To be honest, I thought that Detroit Southeastern would have won this game. I know the school is smaller, than it was, but still.
