Piston’s need only look in the mirror to find their biggest problem

Piston’s need only look in the mirror to find their biggest problem!                     Â

Â
O.K. Pistons fan I can see it now. Out come the hatchets and you all are going to have some fat boy soup as you butcher me for this take. I can’t help it it’s just the facts.

Â
The Pistons are lazy, self-absorbed and walk around with a sense of entitlement that they fail to realize the rest of the league wasn’t told about. The swagger of the blue-collar going to work motto that they used to live by is long gone as they enjoy the luxury of the NBA. They are the classic story of a hard working guy on the factory floor that moved into management and over a period of time became more accustomed to the three martini lunch then the lunch pail. They act as a team that has won the last four titles but they forget one point: they haven’t. You may have been the most talented group the last few years, I certainly won’t doubt that but it is about the hardware (that means championship trophies Mom) and you only have one. Now one is good, but not when there should have been more.

Â
You wanted to “prove” you didn’t need Ben but when someone needed to step in front of LeBron who did? Anyone? Anyone? Exactly! Rasheed whines more then my one year old but yearns for the “respect” that he fails to earn.

Â
This team continues to coast and that is why Cleveland is where they are. The Cavs are hungry, they are not selfish and they are not a group with a multitude of stars, they are a team. There is a big difference.

Â
The Pistons have underachieved. They should not have only one title in this era it should be one or even two more. No way that the Heat should have beat them last year. They had the Cavs down and arrogantly let them back in knowing they could just turn in on when they wanted too. Sorry guys when you got to the series with the Heat you said you were simply worn out. It is your fault. It is about as silly as a fat guy being mad at God that he has high blood pressure while he free bases Krispy Kremes. (For the record I am a fat boy but I have lost 74 pounds as of this morning.)

Â
They have failed to reign in Rasheed who is out of control. They tolerate him deciding when he can and won’t turn it on and while they ran off Carlisle and their attitude led to b Brown wanting out they now have a coach that has virtually no authority and this team is in bad need of discipline.Â

Â
Are they talented? No doubt that they have the most talent in the league. They aren’t however disciplined and their lackadaisical attitude has let a hungry Cavs team back in the series. The amazing part is that they still can come back. I doubt it but it wouldn’t surprise me. The Pistons have went from being the epitome of what a team is to being a collection of players that are reaping the millions of dollars that the NBA life can bring and in the process have lost their heart. Think about that folks! The Pistons of the past wouldn’t have let Lebron do what he did. Was I the only one who knew he was going to shoot? Of course not, yet they stood dead on their feet reduced to the role of spectators rather then participators.Â

Â
Rasheed played well under Brown but they have coddled him to the point that he has reverted to who he is rather then what he became when first in Detroit. Why don’t the fans get a refund on the nights he refuses to show up? They tolerated his poor play all season with the caveat that he had to step up in the playoffs. MEMO to Sheed: it is the playoffs. The sad part is that this group has bought into their own press and their own hype and forgot that professional sports is still what our 3rd grade coaches told us: “who wants it more.”

Â
Trust me, I am not in any way disrespecting the job that the Cavs have done or are doing. I am simply saying that a group with more talent is losing to a team. Imagine how good the Cavs will be when they add more talent in future seasons? For now we look at these people wearing Pistons jerseys and they look like the team we feel in love with but who are these impersonators?Â

Â
Hey guys, why don’t you go look through all your check books maybe you can find your heart. As of now it looks like you lost it.

I am on my way to Cleveland, I have to wonder if the Pistons will show up?
