RED WINGS AGREE TO TERMS WITH RAFALSKI
       Detroit, MI…Red Wings General Manager Ken Holland today announced the team has agreed to contract terms with defenseman Brian Rafalski on a five-year contract. In keeping with club policy, additional terms of the deal are not available.
           Rafalski, a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the New Jersey Devils (2000 and 2003), is a three-time NHL All-Star (in seven NHL seasons) and was born in Dearborn, MI.
“We’re very pleased to have Brian join the Red Wings,†said Holland. “With his mobility and puck-handling skills, he is a perfect fit for our style of play. He is from the Detroit area and it will be great to have him in a Red Wings sweater.â€
“I couldn’t be happier,†said Rafalski. “All of my family and friends are very excited and I’m really looking forward to have the opportunity to return to Michigan and play for the Red Wings.â€
Rafalski is coming off of back-to-back seasons in which he played all 82 regular-season games for New Jersey and was selected to the NHL All-Star game both years. Born in Dearborn, MI, Rafalski was a member of Team USA for the 2002 Olympics, earning a Silver Medal.
