Purdue has a winner in Coach Hope, the test is if they have a winner fan base who will give him some room.

I like Coach Hope. He impressed me the first time I met him and has done nothing to change that. In fact, when talking to recruits that have had to deal with him I hear the same glowing things I hear about several of the Big Ten’s best coaches, including when recruits call to tell him they are going somewhere else, telling them great things about their new coach and school. Hope is a winner and a class act.

His team got some major wins in his first season and will be better in 2010 making a bowl. In fact, with some overachievement they could be a couple of wins better than six wins and a bowl.

There is no doubt that the Boiler fans should be excited. I HOPE (pun intended) that they let him be and don’t ride him like they did Tiller. He is a long-term solution.
