Kirk Ferentz is a genius when it comes to coaching football. He wins games and has his team overachieve just because he is on the field. 2011 will be a tough season for the Hawks that lost a lot of talent.
They will still be bowl eligible, but it won’t be a Big Ten title year or close to it in 2011. You can never count out the Hawkeyes because of the entire coaching staff, but you can’t ask them to perform miracles. With this team’s lack of experience it won’t be the season they expect in Iowa City. How many other programs would gladly take a seven or eight win season as a rebuilding project?
Ferentz runs a program very similar in many ways to how Dantonio does it. He has restored Hawk Nation pride. There will be a battle at QB and that will be fun to watch. Overall, this is a solid program with a big lack of experience. The ability of the coaching staff will get them to seven and possibly eight wins.
