They Pull Me Back In!
Count me as one of the non-believers. I should have known that in a game that basically breaks down to five against one, that the five will always prevail in the end, but I didn't think they would do it, even though this Piston's team had done it 10 times before when facing elimination I thought they would fall in six to the Cav's, but they came out on top to put all of us non-believers in our place.
So now what? How can I doubt this team that time and time again rises to the occasion? How can anyone think that Miami or any team for that matter can beat them? Is it even possible? Well, frankly, yes it is.
Now it's no longer five against one. It's five against two and half. Dwayne Wade, Shaq, and the old men that have been lacing up their shoes since the days of the Chuck Taylor Converse All-Stars. You know Payton, Zo, and old man Walker. The odds are still in the Piston's favor, but to say that this series is going to be a cakewalk would be ignorant.
Pat Riley is the man. He is a great coach who has been here and won here before and if he can get his team to take the first two games the Heat can win this series. Flip is a good coach who has a great team but if it comes down to a game of strategy I'm not confident that Saunders is the better of the two. Let's just say I wouldn't want him drawing up the final play with the game on the line. But honestly I don't think it's going to come to that.
The Piston's have passed their test. They got their wake-up call hit snooze a couple times but got up in time to take the series before it was too late. Now the heat is on and the question is do the Piston's still have fire burning for a championship? Don't be surprised if you Detroit down in this series again. Don't be surprised, but never count them out.
