TIGERS ACQUIRE CHRIS LAMBERT FROM ST. LOUIS CARDINALS

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers today announced the club has acquired righthanded pitcher Chris Lambert from the St. Louis Cardinals as the player to be named later to complete the trade on June 22 in which lefthanded pitcher Mike Maroth was sent to the Cardinals. Lambert will be assigned to Triple A Toledo.

Lambert saw action with both Double A Springfield and Triple A Memphis in the Cardinals system in 2007. In five starts with Springfield, he compiled a 0-2 record and 3.42 ERA (26.1IP/10ER). Lambert finished 1-4 with a 7.49 ERA (57.2IP/48ER) in 28 appearances (four starts) with Memphis.

A first-round selection by St. Louis in the 2004 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, Lambert has compiled a 22-26 record and 5.10 ERA (386.2IP/219ER) in 94 outings (70 starts) during his professional career.
