TIGERS TO HOST AUTHENTICS “OPEN HOUSE†ON SUNDAY
Gate B On Adams Street Will Be Open From 1-4 p.m.Â

DETROIT – Tigers fans can shop for game-used and autographed items from the 2007 season this Sunday at Comerica Park when the club hosts an Authentics Open House.Â
 Â
Gate B at the ballpark, which is located on Adams Street, will be open from 1-4 p.m. for this event. Fans can shop for unique items from this season, including game-used bats, helmets and jerseys. There will be a silent auction for “one of a kind†collectibles and there will also be items from the June 12 no-hitter pitched by Justin Verlander available.Â

“The advantage of purchasing through Detroit Tigers Authentics is that fans know the merchandise is genuine and has been authenticated by Major League Baseball,†said Steve Graus, the Tigers’ Merchandising and Authentics Manager. “Each item will include a hologram, which was placed on it after a Major League Baseball security person verified that it was game-used or was signed by the player in the presence of the MLB authenticator.â€Â

At Comerica Park on home game days, information is available at the Authentics Kiosk, which is located on the Main Concourse adjacent to the Brushfire Grill (third base side of the ballpark). Items are also available for purchase throughout the year inside the Comerica Park Pro Shop near Gate B.Â

An additional benefit of purchasing authentics through the Tigers is that 20-percent of the net proceeds from sales will go to the Detroit Tigers Foundation for the benefit of community initiatives. Founded in 2005, the Detroit Tigers Foundation was established to enhance lives through the game of baseball. With a focus on youth, education and recreation, the Foundation aids and develops initiatives that help promote the game of baseball.Â
