On which quarterback will enter the game after QB Jon Kitna: "(Dan) Orlovsky will go the next quarter and a half, and then Drew (Stanton ) will get the last quarter and a half. So we got it there."On what players have been ruled out for Thursday night: "The guys that will not participate right now: we're going to keep Ernie (Sims) out; Cory Redding out; and Langston Moore on defense, we will not play him. And Edwin (Mulitalo on offense)."

On whether LB Buster Davis will play: "He's been cleared to play. So we're going to play Buster as of right now, unless something else breaks out."

On whether the early draft picks will get a lot of playing time: "Oh yes. We're going to play them. We want to get them some good work tomorrow and be smart at the same time."

On whether that includes DE Cliff Avril and DT Andre Fluellen: "I'm going to get a lot of work in with the guys. I expect them to play quite a bit."

On whether he will play the starting offensive line more Thursday in order to gain familiarity with things they have not been able to do in practice: "No. They're going to be playing in it. The quarterbacks are going to get out of there a little bit and the receivers. Some guys we're going to have to rotate through there some, but it's just we're going to get some work in and then we'll get them out. But that's a good question. We'll get some of that as we go."

 On what he looks to get out of Thursday's game: "Like I've said each year to you guys, first thing is: I want to win every snap. Just that mentality as we go in and that each guy is developing. But then the other thing I really want is: the things that we've emphasized from Day 1 in camp, from offseason, I want to see it show up on tape. And I'm talking about turnover-takeover ratio. I don't care if it's the fourth (quarter); I don't care who's in there. We've emphasized it; I want to see that. The penalties, I want to see them lower. I want to see those five offense lineman, I want to see them as five pistons coming off together. I want to see that emphasis we've been putting on the run game. Will it be perfect? I don't know. But I want to see that emphasis show up on tape. I want to see the defense really slamming the run. I mean, gaps, knowing exactly - we fitted the heck out of it. I mean, we've been fitting here for - we might be the All-World Team in terms of walkthroughs. But we're fitting and fitting, so I want to see that show up. And then I don't want any weak links in tackling. And then I want to see the coverage units in our punt and our kickoff teams."

On the emphasis on balance in this year's running game: "Oh yeah. We've got to run it. We've got to run the thing. We've got to make it go and then we've got to stuff off of it, so I want to see that. And the thing that they've got to understand as they go is truly pound the rock because you're going to keep swinging on that thing and you might get a yard, a yard, a yard; but you've got to stay after it and then see if you can crack that thing. We have to be stubborn with it."

On whether he will run the ball more in the preseason for emphasis or be more balanced: "I think (we will not run disproportionately) because we've got other stuff to look at with it. All your play-action stuff, you want to make sure you're getting everything on tape. In practice you can script a two-minute drill; you don't know if you're going to get one. (In) practice you can script a four-minute drill; you don't know if (you're going to get one). Now you get into some situations, like early in the game, this is hard for us. Say you're at plus-30 going in, fourth down, 4th-and-1; you want to work on two things right? You'd like to work on your short-yardage offense, but I have to make sure that Jason's (Hanson) getting the work, live bullets, on our protection. You can't script it. You don't know. Because the field goal protection is critical and it's hard to go live on that in practice. You thump it because there are too many bodies around. So that's the one time you have a chance to really put it under duress and test guys out. So hopefully those situations show up for us, but you don't know. That's the toughest part of this thing."
