LIONS WR KENNETH MOORE
On his role with the Lions: "Hopefully I can work my way in and try to get into a slot receiver, playing with two great receivers: Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson. That says a lot. So, I'll just try to creep in with those guys and try to make a difference."On playing one game at Wake Forest at quarterback: "You know, they had told me, they had what they called 'Kenny Cat,' that's what we were calling it. Basically they lined me up at quarterback and I had one throw in and they never let me do it, but we just do that and mixed a run play with it."

On his experience as a returner and what he brings to the table: "I was a full-time return man this year at Wake Forest and last year I was half-time basically because they had a guy they loved, a senior, so this is (learning) my ropes and waiting for the time to come. I definitely think I can go out and be a threat at the punt return position and do the best to change the field position."

On whether he has any big plans to celebrate: "Actually all of my family is over here. People from the church and some relatives I haven't seen in awhile are over here eating good, relaxing and laughing. We have some good music playing. So, we're having a good time."

On whether there was a fear he wouldn't get drafted: "Well, you know, there was definitely a fear because you never know what's going to happen in the draft. It was funny because the Bills running back coach had called me about an hour ago and they were the next pick and then Arizona called me and both of those guys had me going with them in the next two picks, but in the last second Detroit calls me and I was ecstatic. I think coach (Sam) Gash was a great fullback, Hall of Fame fullback, and there's no better person to learn under then him."

On whether he visited Detroit: "No sir I didn't, no sir. He was at my pro day, so he had a private workout with me, but I didn't visit."

On how he thinks he would fit into zone schemes with this offense: "Yeah, it's probably a little too soon to say, but I'm kind of used to running that type of offense. For Furman I ran one back and I ran fullback. I had lots of shifts there. I'll be willing to do that and I'm excited about it and it's just an exciting time for me. I just can't wait to go up there and try to help Detroit win."

On how much fullback and tailback he played: "Yeah, I was our leading rusher a couple of my years. I think I finished with 67 touchdowns in my career, so I got a good amount of single back, but I was the starting fullback and if we ran the one back I would move to the one back and things like that. I did a lot of short yardage, a lot of goal line and still throughout the middle of the field too. In our offense I was pretty diverse and got to do a couple of different things and hopefully that's one of the reasons the Lions like me."

On having 67 touchdowns and whether he's tired: "Yes sir. Today just rejuvenated me - and I'm brand new (laughter)."

On having plenty of time to develop a touchdown celebration: "Well, at Furman, our coaches are pretty strict at Furman and those officials don't let you get away with much. I cut the celebrations to a minimum."

On his background: "I have good family and I have a lot of great people behind me. My mother was always academics first from when we were at a very young age. My little brother is 17 years old and will be 18 when he's in medical school, so that's pretty crazy. I was blown away with that. Academics have always been a big part and luckily my family has some good athletic genes and I tried to steal a couple of them from my mom and dad. It worked out for me."

On what type of doctor his brother wants to be: "I think he wants to be an emergency surgeon."

On whether he played a lot of soccer growing up in Germany: "I played soccer when I was in fifth grade, but it was too much running and I didn't like it (laughing). It was too much running without scoring and it was almost like I was running for no reason. I just switched to football."
