NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Ameer Ismail was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation National 1-A Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday after his performance in Western Michigan's 41-27 win at Ball State.   Ismail tied an NCAA record for sacks in a game, dropping Ball State signal callers six times. His six sacks tied Elvis Dumervillw (Louisville) who set the mark against Kentucky in 2005. Ismail also finished with a season-high 13 tackles to lead the Broncos. For his effort, Ismail was highlighted on ESPN's College Game Day Final. Before the slew of sacks, Ismail had a game-changing performance when he intercepted BSU's Nate Davis at the Cardinals' 29-yard line and ran untouched for his first career defensive touchdown. The pick-six was his second interception in as many games. Ismail now leads the nation in sacks per game (1.57) and tackles for loss per game (2.29). Courtesy of the WMU SID
