With Mara Braun still out of the lineup and Sophie Hart out with a hip injury, the Gophers women's basketball team couldn't hang with Nebraska on Saturday, falling 70-51 in Lincoln, Neb.

Mallory Heyer posted her fifth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but not much else went right for Minnesota in the lopsided defeat.

It's the U's eighth loss in its last nine games.

The Gophers were outscored 20-8 in the first quarter but held with the Cornhuskers in the second to go into the half down 13. But Nebraska pushed its lead to 29 during the fourth quarter before Minnesota closed the game on a 10-0 run.

Jaz Shelley led the Cornhuskers with a game-high 16 points. Amaya Battle had 12 points and six assists for the U, and Grace Grocholski finished with 10.

The Gophers return to action on Wednesday, when they'll host Iowa. Tipoff at Williams Arena is slated for 8 p.m.
