Gophers offer Miami-Ohio transfer receiver Gage Larvadain
Miami-Ohio transfer wide receiver Gage Larvadain said on social media Tuesday that he has received a scholarship offer from the Gophers football program.
Larvadain had 42 receptions for 679 yards and six touchdowns as a junior in 2023 and was the Redhawks’ leading receiver. The Donaldsonville, La., native previously played at Southeastern Louisiana for two seasons before transferring to Miami-Ohio.
Larvadain was named the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year in 2021 after a campaign in which he caught 37 passes for 521 yards and five touchdowns for the Lions. He followed it up with a sophomore season in 2022 in which he caught 59 passes for 731 yards and two touchdowns.
The Gophers are looking to add to a receivers room that will return leading receiver Daniel Jackson in 2024. Minnesota is hoping to revitalize its passing attack in 2024 with the addition of several new offensive pieces, including New Hampshire transfer quarterback Max Brosmer.
Minnesota has offered scholarships to a number of wide receivers in the portal, including Jahmal Banks (Wake Forest), Blaine Green (Oklahoma State) and Trent Hudson (New Mexico State).
