Gophers prized QB recruit Drake Lindsey reaffirmed his commitment to joining Minnesota next fall despite the program landing one of the top QBs in the transfer portal.

Posting on X on Monday, Lindsey tweeted, "I'm 1000% [committed] ]to Minnesota. Just wanna get that out there!! RTB!!!"

Lindsey verbally committed to Minnesota in May ahead of his senior season in which he led Fayetteville High School to the Arkansas Class 7A title. The 6-foot-5 senior threw for 52 touchdowns passes this season, setting an Arkansas Class 7A record.

Speculation has mounted that Lindsey's hometown Arkansas Razorbacks could make a late charge after hiring Bobby Petrino as offensive coordinator. Gophers head coach P.J. Fleck, possibly sensing renewed interest in the young QB, was on hand to take in Lindsey's championship-winning performance Saturday. Adding fuel to the speculation was the Gophers' own pursuit of former New Hampshire QB Max Brosmer.

After losing Athan Kaliakmanis to the transfer portal, the Gophers landed the FCS's top QB in Max Brosmer via the portal. The junior QB threw for an FCS-high 3,449 yards along with 29 touchdown passes to just six interceptions.

Kaliakmanis is one of ten Gophers to enter the transfer portal after the team's 5-7 regular season ended. (An updated list of outbound transfers can be found here.)

Minnesota will take on Bowling Green in the Quick Lane Bowl on Dec. 26 at Ford Field in Detroit.

There is a lot of hype about Gophers transfer QB Max Brosmer
