Gophers' Jimmy Snuggerud named Big Ten First Star of the Week

After netting a hat trick Monday night and tallying six points in the Gophers men's hockey team's series split with Colorado College, forward Jimmy Snuggerud was name the Big Ten Conference's First Star of the Week on Tuesday.
Snuggerud scored a pair of goals for ninth-ranked Minnesota in Sunday night's 6-4 loss to No. 17 Colorado College. Then he netted the hat trick and recorded an assist for a career-best four-point night in a 6-2 bounce-back win over the Tigers Monday.
Snuggerud is tied with Rhett Pitlick for a team high with 22 points and leads the Gophers with 16 goals this season.
