Just A Bulldog Minute: How Dak Prescott Performed Against The Panthers

How this former Bulldog swept the Carolina Panthers in this week's matchup.

This past Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys dominated against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, N.C., 33-10. The lopsided win improved the Cowboys' record to 7-3 and secured their fourth victory in the past five games.

This victory also gave Dallas an edge in the all-time series between the teams, 2-1.

Former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott completed 25 of 38 passes, throwing for 189 yards and two touchdowns. In the last five minutes and 47 second of the fourth quarter, Prescott spent time on the bench so the reserves could have a turn.

“It was about focusing on where we were and, if you look on paper, a lesser opponent,” Prescott said during his postgame press conference. “So we had to get going fast and not take them lightly and keep the focus high. And, yeah, we got the job done."

That's an understatement.

Going into halftime, the Cowboys kept a 17-3 lead, out-showing the 1-8 Panthers. Prescott was part of both touchdowns, an 18-yard pass to tight end Luke Shoonmaker and a 5-yard completion to wide receiver CeeDee Lamb just before the break. At that point, he was 16-for-27, 126 yards.

Prescott has thrown for at least 300 yards passing and three touchdowns in three straight contests, one game shy of tying an NFL record. Per Cowboys Country, since Week 8, he's led the league with 1,082 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes.

“They are hot on offense,” Panthers coach Frank Reich said. “Dak is extremely effective in the pocket and out of the pocket.

The Cowboys will return this Thursday to take on the Washington Commanders for their annual Thanksgiving game (3:30 p.m. CT, CBS).
