Report: Mizzou Product Mitch Morse Released by Bills

Former Missouri Tigers center Mitch Morse was released by the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday.

The Buffalo Bills released former Missouri center Mitch Morse on Wednesday, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.

"The Bills are releasing C Mitch Morse, sources tell me and Ian Rapoport," Garofolo wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). "Morse was due $8.5 million in salary this upcoming season. After five seasons in Buffalo, the 2022 Pro Bowl selection will be a free agent."

Morse is one of several Bills, including multiple Pro Bowlers, who have been released by the team on Wednesday, as Buffalo continues to clear salary cap space.

The 49th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft has started in every single game that he's played throughout his career. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs and his first four seasons there before signing with Buffalo as a free agent in 2019.

Since joining the Bills, Morse was a key piece of the offensive line and helped pave the way for one of the league's most effective rushing attacks in 2023. On 1,128 snaps this past season, Morse allowed just one sack.

An argument could be made that the 31-year-old's best season came in 2022, as he earned a trip to his first-ever Pro Bowl after helping pave the way to a Bills offense that finished second in the NFL in points and yards.

Morse played for the Missouri Tigers from 2010-2014 and was a cornerstone of the offensive line in his time as a starter. He saw time at center, right tackle and left tackle and helped Missouri to back-to-back 10-plus win seasons in his final two years.
