Nebraska baseball continues to be solid on Friday and Saturday but left wanting on Sunday.

After clinching the series with wins the first two days, Nebraska gave up three-spots in each of the first two innings before Illinois held on for the 10-7 victory. NU falls to 13-8-1 on the season and 2-1 in the Big Ten Conference.

Max Anderson and Gabe Swansen each hit a home run, and the Huskers tallied 12 hits. But it was the pitching that didn't hold up its end of the bargain.

Matt Garza gave up seven hits and six earned runs in his 2.0 innings as the starter. Jackson Brockett followed that up with 3.2 innings of work, giving up a pair of earned runs on two hits. Will Rizzo managed to get a single out but also gave up two earned runs.

Jake Bunz and Shay Schanaman combined for 3.0 innings on the hill, giving up zero runs on two hits, but by then the damage was done.

Nebraska will stay at home to host North Dakota State on Tuesday.
