Three runs in the top of the first inning weren't enough for Nebraska baseball at Grand Canyon Saturday night.

The Antelopes (5-2) held off the Huskers (3-3) 7-5 at GCU Ballpark in Phoenix, Arizona. Big Red will need to wait until Sunday to potentially win the weekend series.

Mason McConnaughey took the loss for Nebraska. The sophomore right-hander gave up two runs, one of them earned, in his 3.0 innings of relief. Starter Will Walsh allowed four runs, two of them earned, in his 3.0 innings of work.

Nebraska racked up 11 hits on the day, with four Huskers notching multi-hit games.

The series concludes Sunday afternoon.
