Nebraska baseball wasted no time getting up and staying there Friday night.

NU (3-2) routed Grand Canyon (4-2) 11-1 in Phoenix, Arizona. The win guarantees at least a split of the four-game series for the Huskers.

With the victory, head coach Will Bolt notched his 100th career victory, becoming the sixth coach to reach the century mark in program history.

Big Red got a pair of runs in both the first and third innings, adding another in the fourth and seventh before the Antelopes scratched across their only run in the bottom of the seventh.

Brett Sears was phenomenal on the mound, going 6.0 innings with seven strikeouts while giving up just two hits. Ty Horn closed out the final 3.0 innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits, striking out two.

Josh Caron slugged a pair of home runs in the effort, totaling five RBIs.

The series continues Saturday at 7 p.m. CST.
