A different route with a familiar destination for Nebraska baseball Tuesday night.

The Huskers held off Wichita State 8-6 in Kansas. NU is now 7-1 on the road this season.

Nebraska held a 7-1 lead through the fifth inning but then had to stave off a rally by the Shockers, who scored two runs in the sixth and three more in the eighth. It was a script reversal for the Huskers, who have registered a number of comeback wins so far this season.

Nebraska starter Will Walsh held the Shockers in check, tossing 6.0 innings while allowing three earned runs on six hits to take the win. Casey Daiss pitched final 1.1 innings for his third save of the season.

Cole Evans went 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and RBI, becoming the second Husker this season to post four or more hits in a game. Tyler Stone slugged his third homer across his last five games.

The Huskers improved to 10-4 while the Shockers fell to 9-6. The two-game series concludes Wednesday.
