Former Nebraska women's basketball player Ashley Scoggin has filed a lawsuit against her former school.

As first reported by On3, the lawsuit alleges that former assistant coach Chuck Love initiated a sexual relationship "with a student-athlete on his team" and that the response from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln confirmed that relationship. Love resigned his post in May 2022, three months after being suspended at the same time Scoggin was removed from the NU roster.

Scoggin currently plays for UNLV. Love works in player development as CEO of Love in Basketball.

The lawsuit also names head coach Amy Williams and athletic director Trev Alberts.

University of Nebraska chief communication officer Melissa Lee responded with a statement from the University.

“The University was made aware of the lawsuit this morning. While the University does not comment on the specifics of pending litigation, it does not agree with the allegations contained in the complaint and intends to vigorously defend this matter.”
